Mike Ritter
Mike Ritter has been the editorial cartoonist for The Tribune in Phoenix since 1992. Prior to his current position, he served as cartoonist for the former Scottsdale Progress, which merged with The Tribune in 1993.

During his four years as a student journalist at Arizona State University's State Press, he received 10 Gold Circle Awards from Columbia University's Scholastic Press Association, including two First Place Awards in 1990, in the editorial cartoon and comic strip categories. His work has appeared on ABC's Good Morning America, in the annual cartoon anthology, The Best of Editorial Cartoons, and he has done original illustrations for USA Today and The New York Times Magazine.

Ritter has been honored by the Suburban Newspapers of America and received the Arizona Press Club's first-place award for cartooning in 1993, 1995 and 1996.

In 1999 he received the Thomson newspaper chain's highest award for illustration and a Freedom of Information Award from the Arizona Newspaper Association.

A native of Washington State, Ritter has made Arizona his home for 16 years.
