Susan She's married to Harv, has an adopted daughter, Emma, and works full-time outside the home. Her goals are to spend time with her family, score some personal time and maybe get to the gym once a month.

Kim Kim is married to Derek and has a stepson, Danny. She writes a syndicated women's issues column and enjoys the perks of having a home-based career. As a new mother, she is learning that "deadlines" and "four-year-olds" are not synonymous.

Maeve Maeve is a sophisticated and savvy divorcee. She's a crackerjack at the office in her position as Sales Director but a big flopperoo in her love life ... and for some reason, her ex still seems to shake up her world now and then.

Harv A low-key, unassuming funeral director. An all-around modern male, supportive spouse and an annoyingly obsessive neat-freak.
|
|
|
Derek A high school English teacher. A single father before his new marriage to Kim, he mastered the role of "mommy" to his toddler son, Danny.

Helen Maeve's co-worker, sounding board and voice of experience at the office. A 15-year veteran of marital bliss with Grant and mom to Amelia (age 12) and Mark (age 10).

Tina Susan's office buddy and frazzled mom with two kids in diapers.

Danny Kim and Derek's 12-year-old son. He is a typical kid whose life revolves around sports, MSN, X-Box and his buddies.

Emma Susan and Harv's 9-year-old adopted daughter. She is a drama queen who loves fashion, music and pop idols like Hilary Duff.
