Grin and Bear It was created by sports cartoonist George Lichty in 1932. In the more than 60 years since its debut, Grin and Bear It has satirized not only American mores and foibles but also such establishment targets as the military, big business and politics. When not going after bigger fish, Grin and Bear It deflates the ordinary inconsistencies and absurdities of everyday life.
